Whistle, lots of strings, soft drums, acoustic guitars, piano, and bass lay the foundation for this poignant offering. The idea was to create a new piece that sounded like a Civil War era piece, using the language style of the time, with hopes of painting an image for the listener of what might be on the mind of a Civil War soldier: his home, family, true love, fears, weariness, and ultimately, coming to terms with his own possible demise. The vocal part is all unison. (from Music K-8, Vol. 23, No. 4)
