2001 Kazoos (Also Sprach Zarakazoostra)

This dramatic opening to Richard Strauss' dramatic tone poem Also Sprach Zarathustra has become almost a programmatic cliché, used whenever someone wants to portray an awakening or a powerful beginning. We took great care to arrange it for full orchestra, and record it well, and it would make a great listening exercise for your students.

Against this majestic backdrop, your students get to play kazoos and Boomwhackers. In performances, a serious demeanor and very proper staging will make this even funnier for your audience. The kit includes extracted kazoo and Boomwhacker parts. (from Music K-8, Vol. 11, No. 3)
