Hail To The Chief
adapted/arr. Paul JenningsThough "Hail To The Chief" is the traditional march that is played to herald the entry of the President of the United States, it can be used to honor any president or person of importance. With President's Day falling in February, so close to National Kazoo Day (January 28), it seemed only natural (?!) to combine the two in this arrangement for kazoos.
Besides using kazoos, you may also want to add classroom percussion. You also may want to use this song to emphasize the difference among straight eighths, triplets, and dotted-eighth/sixteenth rhythms. Also, since it's a march, it's a great excuse to have kids, especially the younger ones, marching to the tune. (from Music K-8, Vol. 7, No. 3)
