5 Sounds

Tunes in our "Sounds" series introduce various sounds or bits of melodies one at a time or in groups, building to a certain point, then un-building back to the base. This is an excellent tool for learning rhythms and part singing, and for keeping track of the form of a tune. Our suggested form is printed at the bottom of the music, but you can adapt it any way you like.

Five rhythm parts are written out, as are five vocal parts. The only lyrics the five vocal parts sing are the numbers one through five (thus the title). The kit only includes a full performance track, since there is no accompaniment other than the student percussion. (from Music K-8, Vol. 4, No. 5)
