Little Animal Songs
by Teresa JenningsWhat do a giraffe, spider, porcupine, crab, polar bear, owl, hippopotamus, turtle, and fish have in common? Not much, except for the fact that they are the featured animals in a new primary song collection! Each of these nine animals has a simple song just for them that tells something significant, but basic. For example, "Giraffes are tall. They're very, very tall. You have to look up to see them all." Or "Fish can breathe under water but they cannot breathe on land." And because the songs are so short, they are easy to learn and easy to remember.
We have also created a simple narration to tie the songs together. That way, you could use the songs in a program if you like. Or you could treat it like story time and read it with your students in class. It includes a short spoken group section, followed by several individual lines you can divide however you prefer. The book includes the music, lyric pages, and a teacher's guide, as well as wonderful illustrations by artist Colleen Schinler.
Songs in this sweet little collection include:
- Giraffes Are Tall
- Spiders Have Eight Legs
- Porcupines Are Pointy
- Crabs Walk Sideways
- Polar Bears Are White Bears
- Owls Have Big Eyes
- Hippopotamuses Love The Water
- Turtles Live In A Shell
- Fish Can Breathe Under Water
