By popular demand, we are pleased to bring you eight more songs from Music K-8 magazine that make it easier to teach the elements of music. Sing A Song Of Musical Concepts, Volume 2 includes fun and engaging songs that will capture the attention of your students while reinforcing important musical concepts. Includes:

3/4 Meter - This tune explains the concept of 3/4 meter. It is, as you might expect, a waltz, with just a touch of silliness.
Half Note - Using only half notes throughout, this short and easy tune allows your students to see, hear, and count half notes enough to truly ingrain the meaning.
The Repeat Song - This song introduces students to the concept of the repeat. Not only do the lyrics explain it, but the song itself features several repeats so students learn by doing.
Accent - Such a tiny little symbol, it's often missed, so this is the perfect chance for you to help singers pay closer attention. Not every note in our little song uses one, so students have to really focus. The fun comes in with the accented "Huh!" sound that singers get to make at the end of each phrase.
Da Capo, Da Coda - This music concept song teaches about, and employs an example of, D.C. al Coda. In this rockin' song, students will learn "when you see Da Capo it means go to the top" and to look for the Coda bug once they see "to Coda."
Mixed Meter - This basic blending of 4/4 meter with 3/4 meter is meant to introduce or reinforce the concept of switching meters in a song. This song is a partner song, so each of the two melodies occurs separately at first, and then both are combined. Part 1 emphasizes the meter switch by counting the beats. Part 2 names the two meters that are switching and explains that this is what mixed meter is. Two different tempos are included on the recording – a slower and a faster version.
D.S. al Coda - The D.S. al coda concept is a good way to repeat a section without adding a zillion pages to a piece, and this song explains how it works. We've set the tune to an exciting four-on-the-floor techno house groove that will motivate young singers.
Tempo - This musical concept tune is really easy – unless you lose track of where you are! That's what makes it more fun though. It gets faster and faster, then slower and slower depending on where you are, so you have to count. More than that, you have to listen. It will definitely keep students on their toes! And it will definitely teach them what tempo is. Includes a bonus animated video!
