Mis Abuelos
by Mike WilsonWho thinks you're the greatest thing in the world? Whose job is it to spoil you? Your grandparents, of course! Here's a song to recognize just how awesome your grandparents are. It's written in easy Spanish, in that each verse is the same with one lyric change. Verse one is simply translated as "My grandparents like to dance with me." Verses two, three, and four translate respectively, "My grandparents like to sing, play, be with me." It wraps up with "I love my grandparents." This song is very upbeat and invites an enthusiastic vocal approach.
A pronunciation guide is included with the kit. However, if you have Spanish speaking children in your choir, let them be your guide. To add even more fun, invite your beginning ukulele and/or guitar students to strum along, too. They only need three chords: G, D, and C. The parts, including diagrams, are on the piano score, and an extracted part is included, as well. (from Music K-8, Vol. 32, No. 1)
