Nobody is better than Artie Almeida at creating activities that get kids absorbed in them. For this unique movement/performance piece, she has teamed up with arranger Paul Jennings to teach popular Christmas songs in a cool way. Over a distinctive Australian outback groove, we walk through a rondo that intones the "March" from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, each time followed by a segment of a popular Christmas tune. Each time this occurs the players stop, first fingering the tune, then actually performing it. Then they walkabout. Listen to the excerpt and you'll see what fun there is to be had.
