Amazing Music
The Amazing Music Series from The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, led by Music Director Andrew Litton, bring a new generation to the wonderful world of classical music. Filmed live at children's concerts, these refreshing videos showcase the enthusiasm and involvement of the young audience. Kids actually get to participate in each of the programs. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra's Amazing Music programs have been broadcast on A&E and PBS.
- Emotions In Music shows how music can evoke specific emotions. Musical selections range from Star Wars and The Lion King to Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. Emotions In Music is a winner of the Film Advisory Board Award of Excellence.
- Pictures In Music examines the incredible pictorial and descriptive abilities of music. Musical selections include Saint-Saëns' The Carnival Of The Animals, Grofé's Grand Canyon Suite, and Respighi's The Pines Of Rome.
- Families Of The Orchestra is a tour of the symphony, with members of the orchestra demonstrating how each type of instrument works. It features musical selections from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker and Webber's The Phantom Of The Opera.
- Jazz features noted jazz performer and educator Dr. Billy Taylor and trumpet sensation Roy Hargrove. Join them as they lead a discovery of the history and impact of America's classical music.
